Moved forward for those who might have missed it the first time
This scene from 2010 is now gone. The Lake St Interlocking tower in the background was demolished in 2012. The tracks still exist but a tunnel was built over them, and the small lot off frame at Canal and Lake now has a Hi-Rise condo going up. This was one of my most favorite photo locations till high dollar real estate wheeling and dealing destroyed it.
This woman was walking down Canal and as she passed the signal, it tripped off. After crossing one of the triple tracks she started running. The exposure was a bit dark, and after psudo HDR-ing it, I realized she had iPod headphones also. Train was 200 yards away from her. Train was on track she is about to cross.
Taken in the Cassidy Tire parking lot along Canal, near Kinzie. This was the second person to walk across train tracks with signals going today
