Ice breaker

Ice breaker

It's tough to be unique. It's nearly impossible. We all emulate others, gather inspiration from an image, and only hope to recreate something similar. Admittedly, the inspiration for this image was taken from my friend, Brian Koprowski, who captured a similar image last year during the polar vortex. Since then I've wanted to try my hands at something similar: the iconic Kinzie bridge with the Chicago River frozen. As I watched morning arrive, ice chunks floated through, giving me the conditions I had been hoping for. It's always a tough timing game both with the ice, but more so with the cars driving over the bridge. I was lucky enough to also capture the Green Line train zipping through the frame.
